How It Started
Stephen Crutchfield opened Odyssey Plumbing Co in 2022 after years of watching homeowners get oversold and undertold by other plumbers in East Texas. He is a licensed Master Plumber, and he is the one who picks up when you call. No dispatcher, no answering service, no message passed along secondhand: the person who answers your question is the person who will be looking at the problem.

Tankless Water Heater
Wall-hung unit with gas, water, and venting run clean. Endless hot water, and the utility closet goes back to being a closet.
Sewer Line Replacement
Old line out, new line laid to grade, and the yard put back. The part that matters is buried ten minutes after it is done, so we photograph it first.
New Construction Rough-In
Under-slab drains stubbed up and staked ahead of the pour, laid out to pass inspection the first time. Concrete does not offer second chances.

We’re headquartered in Kilgore, and we cover a lot of ground, but not all of it the same way. Residential work stays inside roughly 75 miles. Commercial and industrial work runs out to about 150. That split is deliberate: when a line lets go in a house, you need somebody there fast, and we won’t promise that from two hours away.

How fast can you get someone out for an emergency?
We answer the phone 24 hours a day, every day of the week. For an active leak, no hot water, or a sewer backup, we move fast and tell you honestly how soon someone can be at your door, not a vague “sometime today.”
Do you charge extra for after-hours or weekend calls?
We’re upfront about pricing before we start the job, whether it’s a Tuesday afternoon or a Sunday night. You’ll know the number before we touch a wrench, no hidden after-hours markup sprung on you at the invoice.
Are you licensed to work in Texas?
Yes. Stephen is a licensed Master Plumber and our Responsible Master Plumber license (M-45845) is registered with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Every job we do is code-compliant and inspection-ready.
Do you work on new construction, or just repairs?
Both. We handle full plumbing rough-ins for new builds and additions alongside everyday repair and replacement work for existing homes. If a builder needs a plumber who shows up when scheduled, that’s us too.
What areas do you actually serve?
We’re based in Kilgore and cover roughly 150 miles out from there, including Longview, Tyler, Gladewater, Gilmer, Henderson, and the smaller towns in between. If you’re not sure whether you’re in range, just call and ask.
How do I know what a repair is actually going to cost?
We look at the problem, explain what’s wrong in plain language, and give you a real number before any work starts. If something unexpected turns up once we’re inside a wall, we stop and tell you before we keep going, we don’t just run up the bill.
Do you install walk-in bathtubs, and is it a big job?
We do full walk-in bathtub installation, replacement, and repair. It’s a bigger job than a standard tub swap since we’re usually reworking the plumbing connections and the surrounding floor and wall, but it doesn’t have to take your whole bathroom out of commission for weeks. We plan the job so you know how long you’re without a working tub and we stick to that timeline.
